Almost brought a tear to my eye. It was a really inspirational and heartwarming gesture to see Wiggins leading out Cavendish after all his hard work. It was also nice to see Wiggins wait for Cadel after the tyre puncture incident. Real gents, and nice to see when you compare to the win at all costs attitude of football(and other sports)

Back on topic, it was an awesome show of power by Cavendish, especially when they say he’s lost a bit of speed!
The way Sky are riding, I can’t imagine anything but two more stage wins for them and a gold for Team GB at the Olympics.

Amazing to watch. Cav said in the interview afterwards that he’d begged team management to give him a chance in the sprint after they’d said it was going to be a day of taking it easy. Room must have been a bit dusty when that interview was on!

Contador, nor Cancellara. And to be fair, that was due to rider error (Schleck’s done this before), not a mechanical due to bad luck.

done to death but cheating bertie [Contador] won the TdF that year by the exact time he made up on that stage…you dont attack a rival having a bike related issue as it is just not the done thing…its why he got booed that day on the podium.

I am not sure you can ever say a chain dropping is deffo user error rather than bad luck either but it is a bad way to win the tour and you should win it due to your legs

Given we now know Bertie was doped to the gills at the time, I think ‘chaingate’ is the least of the issues there.

On a related note, I’m getting a bit pissed of with what appears to be mainly US contributors to roadie forums whining on about how boring the tour is this year, and bemoaning the lack of Contador or Schleck to ‘animate’ the GC battle, while conveniently ignoring the reality that one is now a convicted doper and the other one is suspect, the moreso now that his brother’s 5k training plan from Dr Fuentes appears to have included some pharmaceutical assistance.

The birds eye view showed off the incredible turn of speed as came past. Amazing ride!
