    Just ploughing through another cup of tea after popping in to Law Cycles in North Berwick…

    I remember a full suss fat bike built up on an old Marin Alpine Trail or similar frame….. and fancy a build project…..

    Anyone got any pictures or details ?

    Yeah. Not on pc so not so easy to post pics etc. Search “Alan Cole” on Flickr

    It’s the low end one with the steel rear end. I lengthened the rear end by brazing in 1 1/8 steerer tube sections in and offsetting it for a 135 hub.

    I then removed too much of the steerer sections to make it look good and one collapsed. So it needs fixed but that’s in hand.

    Someone did similar with a Maverick on mtbr IIRC. If you can work in aluminium there’ll be a ton of frames you could use, I was restricted by wanting to use steel. A mate brazed it, not me.
