Having suffered a knackered Louise FR caliper piston (parts unavailable) and having bought a Julie brake as a stop-gap ….with what turns out to be knackered lever assembly…,
I’ve now combined the two working components and bled them carefully as a temporary fix until I can source a replacement Louise caliper. -anybody?
The Julie pistons are larger diameter than the Louise. As a result the Louise lever requires more travel to engage the brake than with a Louise caliper, although it does seem to be working acceptably on my bike stand. I’ve wound the lever fully out, but I’m not sure how well it will work on a steep descent. Will the lever come back to the bar?
Has anybody used this combination successfully? Did they survive?
