A few years ago when I first got a set of magic shine lights it was easy as Deal Extreme only had a few to choose from.

But now there are bloody hundreds to choose from on DX. Had anyone got any idea which Magicshine now offers the best performance/value?

(I know winters a while away but there is no harm in being prepared!)

M8 has a Inton U2 clone (though it came out first) of the MJ-880 as a bar light it’s brilliant, hugely bright & loads of spread. It’s also lump of metal & a half (good heat sink though), no way it could go on your head. He bought it for £130 early 2012, so no way I rush to spend £165 odd it on for as the MJ-880.
Not when you can get a Fluxient 3x XM-L unit for £125 (other sellers are available).
Beam shots of those & others from Torchy’s site (for full disclosure he does sell fluxients on ebay)
For smaller units for use on your head I’m now looking at the much smaller 2X XML light’s on ebay from china (random seller chosen) though the lumen ratings are silly
