I think you should change your username. I beginning to think it isn’t all just a coincidence. Oh. If you are on the hard shoulder I would suggest not sitting in the car….

Managed to get the new to the wife thanks.

Two RAC vans have driven past so far but failed to stop.

At this time on a Friday night he’s probably moving faster than everyone else anyway.

Currently being coughed on by other peoples kids at a soft play, joyful, it’s especially horrible when that ugly one does it.

About to tuck into a home made curry after a 15mile ride around the Dark Peak in the most sublime evening sun, a bit far to bring you a bowl and it may be a bit cold by the time it reaches you!
    Good luck getting sorted.

Broke down twice on the way to work and three times on the way home.

Quick diagnostics phone app told me what was dodgy and part bought/swapped. Smart phones are ace.

Hope you get rolling home soon O.P.

    Home sweet home

RAC reset the error message and the car was fine until 10 miles ago when it reverted to limp home mode again.

Beer and food now. Swear at car later

What’s limp home mode? 150mph or so? 😀

Oh, and you can relax about the repairs safe in the knowledge that it’ll never cost as much to repair as a certain STWers VW Passat……

PP – I had exactly the same issue about 6 weeks ago and the garage ‘fixed’ it for just £950. I might be going back to the garage shortly.

Going back shortly or dumped on their forecourt ??

Lovely car though, don’t get too angry with it and don’t give it a kick eh 😉

It is too nice to lose really. I think it is just a faulty sensor somewhere as it was totally normal once the error message was reset.

Still a damn annoyance while trying to track down what the real fault is.

    POSTED 13 HOURS AGO #

Engine light on and car nearly kills me by cutting out on the A1+roundabouts+miss firing mule.
£5 OBD Bluetooth 4 dongle plugs into every car from year 2001 onwards.
Links up with iPhone or android in a jiffy.
£15 for wifi version for older iPhone.
Free apps galore. Press one button to read fault.
Reads faults: e.g. Ignition coil 2 and 4 (guidelines btw and not exact fault),
    Clear fault.
Drive home at 50 mph with car bouncing like rap video 🙁
    Feel sea sick :/
    Pick up new coil. 🙂
    Fit in 10 mins. 🙂
Check codes and clear memory using phone.
Test drive car and bingo 🙂

I’ve got Rac full works but can’t be bothered to wait for 2 hrs when there is work to be done.

Not what you need when you drive home on a Friday night.
