    Lumigrids can project a grid onto the ground. On a flat road surface, the grid will consist of standard squares. On a rough road surface, the grids will deform accordingly. By observing the motion and deformation of the grids, the rider can intuitively understand the landforms ahead.

    Probably ok if you’re doing 5mph on a road. Can’t see that being of any use off-road tho..

    Nice idea, but by the time you’re close enough to a big pothole/dislodged drain cover/sleeping alsation for it to be hilighted by the grid, aren’t you too close to take any useful avoiding action?

    I could see it being useful in conjunction with a traditional bike light illuminating the terrain further ahead. The grid would give an intuitive picture of the immediate terrain that you sometimes miss when you’re riding at night.
