I’m trying to put some music from the iTunes library on my kids Windows 8 laptop to her Sony phone. I’m using a USB cable to connect them. The laptop doesn’t seem to recognise that there is a phone plugged into it.

Can anyone tell me how to do this in the simplest possible terms 🙂

    Is the phone unlocked?

Unlock it first, then plug in.

    Find the music folder…..

Hang on, we might be good to go. I have removed a dog hair from the phones mini USB thing, and now it’s installing something on the laptop.

Thanks gfs – unlocking it seemed to be part of the problem too. I’m obliged.

    A work around….

Download Amazon music app. Let it ‘see’ your iTunes music. It then ‘allows’ you to play that music.
Then download the Google music app onto laptop and phone.
Sign into both google music apps with the kids ID.
    Voila, music on phone.

    (dont use the sony app)
