I need a low clamp height QR for a Whyte 19. I have a non QR at the moment, but would like saddle-height-adjustability, for a low cost – ie not an uppy-downy post. Any recommendations?

What do you mean by low clamp height? I thought seat QRs were all fairly similar in their vertical dimension?

I mean thin from top to bottom. So the band around the seat tube is thin.

Hmm. Dunno, but from my experience your main concern should be getting one that is built to last. Lots of them come with little plastic shims that the lever pushes against – these break after a while. I got fed up of having to replace my QR so got a Salsa one:

Costs about three times as much as a cheap one, but you only have to buy it once. Hope it's not too wide!
