Just fitted a new XT8000 rear mech,11 speed. Noticed that the low limit screw can be easily rotated by fingers, without an Allen key. Seems mighty loose compared to old one. I guess once it’s had a few rides of crud it will get a bit stiffer, maybe some thread lock for now ? Though can’t see it rattling and moving…..surely..

I had to put locktite on mine as it would move and allow the cage to hit the chain stay.

Loctite would be the obvious solution, though neither of mine have self-adjusted in use.

I have just popped the old screw in from the mech I bent at the weekend and it is reassuringly normally stiff feeling !
