In the process of renovating an old Victorian house.

Just about to start on what will become a study / occasional guest bedroom.

Room currently has no link into CH system, so my question is……..do I fit a rad and plumb into existing gas CH system, or are there any viable alternatives out there? I assume technology like electric storage heaters may have moved on, but googling hasn’t provided any clear evidence on this – anyone have any real world experiences?

Part of the reason I’m asking the question, is I’m awaiting gas bill with dread, so looking as to whether elec heating for 1 room, with periodic occupancy, might be worth a punt!

    Thanks.

I doubt it, gas still cheaper than leccy for heating, oil filled radiator maybe a bit cheaper

This is STW. Woodburner is the only option.

Connect to gas c/h with a thermostatic radiator, keep down low until you need to warmer.

if you want to heat it and the rest of th ehouse then a radiator
if you wish to heat only this room then something else

Wood burner or electric heater – small gas fire even if pratcial
