It rode like crap with these 160mm Marzocchis...

Much better with 140mm Pikes...

This is much more fun & faster up & down than any hardtail though...

Love Chvch's bike, what frame is it?
It's an NS Surge.
Very nice frames they are too, but not as nice as your bloody Curtis you keep teasing the rest of us with!
GIT!
If its any consolation it gets used everyday and
is now complete with scuffs and scratches!
Just built this up! Frame was 40th birthday pressie

Balfa Minuteman from about 2002 - retro long travel hardtail anyone?
Must take pictures with the saddle lower so it doesn't look so stupid

Lovin it!
But I would like to make a few tweaks... hmmm Curtis

I know the stem is unfashionably long but it rides nice
looking forward to adding my summer season to the list.
gah, tick tock, tick tock.
170mm:

For GRRRR use only.
but I spend most of my time on this:

Which can be set to 130mm, but has and will always be 110mm.
Does 120-130mm actually count as “long travel” these days? Surely it’s more “average” now we’re living in the age of 160-180mm single crowns…
Bumhands - It's a NS Bikes Surge frame. Been contemplating buying some lyrics for it but it handles really nicely with the pikes so might just keep them on it!
Just looking back through this thread, and there are some really lovely bikes here. Personally, I think that long travel really starts at 130mm, but maybe 120 could be the starting point.

Old pic...... now has some Fox legs and Hope Stoppers. Don't treat her very nicely but she knows I love her
Frankenbike.
kenneththecurtain,
On your Nicolai do find that with that double TT you end up banging/catching your knees?
.
Usually only when I crash. Totally worth it for twin top tube badass-ness
The twin top tube frames remind me of the old school Torker and Haro Freestyler BMX frames. Pretty pointless (apart from being good to do framestands on) but look very cool.
Totally pointless, thats what makes them rad.
Mike, remember the Skyway bolt-on platforms?
My Chromag has just got a 2010 150mm Revelation with Maxle.
Will get photos this weekend.
I'll see your double top tube and raise you....double down tube too
To be finished over winter
