    ….. With a straight 1 1/18 steerer.
    Cheap one, steel or alloy.
    No chance?
    Anybody any ideas?

    It’s possible I could need 10, 15, 20 forks as well. Long story…..

Ahh it’s gotta be a 29er fork. Surly or salsa. That’ll do.

Easy- Surly Krampus fork, as recommended for my Instigator 2 by Surly themselves & has room for 3″ tyres if you wish.

I had (and now have in the garage) a 26 inch fork on my El Mariachi with a 29er wheel/tyre fitted

Since upgraded to a fargo fork

Is there such a thing as a 650B specific fork? Did you have an axle to crown measurement in mind?

Carbon Cycles do an alloy fork with a 465 a-c measurement which I think might do the job, but £80 isn’t cheap when On-One’s steel forks are half that price.

Singular Swift fork – would that do? could be touring or normal type.

Bit of background I suppose –
I build fleets of Ambulance bikes. If you’ve been to Heathrow airport in the last year or two and seen a paramedic on a bike, I built it.
We were using basic Hardrocks, stripped to frame, seatpost, saddle, stem and rebuilt from the ground up with full Deore, tough wheels, guards, Tubus racks, graphics, Exposure Emergency services lights etc. Each one tips the scales at round £2k out the door.
They’ve always insisted in 26in wheels for strength (I agree with that) but that’s simply not an option any more. We can’t get a 26in bike any more (And they do like Specialised, it has to be said….) so 650B is the only option, but we need a rigid fork on them. You simply have no idea how heavy these things are kitted up, I can’t lift them off the floor, seriously. And I need to build a sample bike for testing.
So it needs to be a strong, cheap fork that’s available in quantity. I think last time I ordered a dozen M Part forks from Madison, but these are too short now and they don’t do 27.5.
I do not want something silly for 3in tyres. That’s useless. I need a basic steel or alloy fork, and rack mounts would be nice as I had to P-clip a dozen Old Man Mountain front racks on last time and thats a job and a half, I can promise you

I was looking for options and getting nowhere when I posted this thread, then moved on to 29er forks and discovered they’re generally around 30mm shorter than the 650b fork that comes with the chosen donor bike (SBC Pitch)
Looks like the Surly ECR fork fits the bill if we can get them, and enough of them…..

I’ve not long fitted a set of ECR forks to my 26″ Genesis Altitude (with a 26″ wheel). I’m really pleased with them.
