Speaking to them its only £10 but they won’t guarantee they will take it if there is no space on the day.
Anyone had any experience of this and a likely probability of being shunted onto the next flight.
I’m looking at a midday flight on a friday in May (but not a bank holiday weekend)

Airlines always say that. It happens rarely when the hold is full but in all the years I’ve flown with a bike, it’s never happened to me, and only know of one occasion when it happened to other folk I know.

I’ve picked up quite a few folk with bikes at Inverness Airport – usually taking them to John O’Groats. No one has (yet) had their bike delayed.

Given that you’ll likely be on a Dash 8, I’m not sure I’d fancy your chances

EDIT: although it looks like I may be pessimistic

Inverness is a great wee airport, used it a few times recently. You shouldn’t have any issues at their end.
