Hello all – just wondered if there are any places like a sort of mini Centre Parcs. We don’t need the massive range of activities they offer (or their prices!), but a nice pool and stuff to keep the kids entertained would be nice.

Bit of an open brief – but not Butlins, or big static caravan holiday park.

Ideally within 4 hours of Derbyshire.

A lot of our friends rave about Butlins, even those who would admit to being snobby about these things.

But in four hours from us, they tend to go the one near Bristol rather than Skeggy!

Have a look at Beaconhill in Northumberland.

Bluestone, South wales. Possibly not within 4 hours, mind. Quieter, nicer accomodation, but not as many activities.

Ribby Hall village between Preston and Blackpool sounds like what you’re describing.
Was OK when I went with family, but that was some years ago.

Pontins? It’s like centre parcs, just with more mid range lager and facial tattooes

Another vote for Forest Holidays. We went to the one near Dalby and thought it was great, but they have quite a few dotted about.

Sandy Balls in the New Forest or Whitemead in Forest of Dean. Both are good but might be a bit too far…….

I’ve not stayed there, but used the pool and it’s very nice. In laws went and loved it. Maybe not as much to do on site, but the Freshwater east and west beaches are lovely, ther’s a bit of forest (Canestan) for a walk or little ride, and folly farm is a brilliant day out. Check out the pub at Creselli too, it’s like being in a time warp but they do a great pint and it’s on the estuary which is lovely on a hot day.

White Cross Bay on Windermere is nice. Plenty of things to do locally plus nice pool & facilities.

We’ve done Forest Holidays. No pool but hot tubs and nice setting for doing outdoors stuff.
