i need a reccomendation for a rear tyre.

i’v been running a furious fred rear with a racing ralph front but yesterday i sliced through the 2nd fred i’v owned.

i’m after a similarly treaded tyre at a similar weight – cost is no restriction but it needs to stand the course longer than my 2 freds!

Not sure how much it weighs, but you could look at Conti Race Kings in their Supersonic range.
I run standard ones and they are quick and tough, they don’t have any side knobblies like RR’s and aren’t so good in the wet, but when it’s fast and dry they’re ace.

Why not try the Race guard version of the Fred’s ?

I love the Freds think there great but they are thin. Race Guard is only 30 grams extra i think.

Conti twister supersonics are 350g scary fast but anything that weight has limitations on grip and robustness.. I put them on my wifes bike now the insurance is sorted.

I like a WTB Nanoraptor on the back for dry conditions.

You want a sub 300g tyre that will last? Good luck with that…

I’d say either get a tyre more appropriate for the terrain, or get the race guard version of the Fred.

Maxxlite 310 is the other obvious option, but I found them less grippy than the Fred.
