    hehe, I read this when it was published. It really is testiment to the fact that the BMJ will publish any old rubbish! Nice to see a piece about cycling though!

    Nah, he used the carbon bike more in bad weather and/or when unfit and the steel bike more later in the test.

    Either way saving weight helps as he points out in his conclusion – so doesn’t matter whether its the riders or the bike.

    Drag is a factor of considerable importance. It is independent of mass and proportional to the cube of the velocity…..The exponential increase in drag with increase in velocity

    Do you want to tell him how this is wrong on multiple levels, or should I?
