Hi, firstly ,does anyone use a maglite aa LED on there bike or a varta headtorch?

Being petrified of getting lost in the dark in woods im looking for some advice on lights.

I was lucky enough to recieve some Cateye RC-230 (double halogen lights with big battery pack) and looked on the mnaufactures website and they claim 1-2 hours and knowing to take that with a pinch of salt i started wondering what else i should take for 2 hour rides in the dark.

I have a maglite aa led as backup in the camelback and a varta 1 led headtorch on my helmet so would that be adequate?

Also if you recommend i get a backup light are the Hope 1 led any good?

    Thanks,

I now use 2 of these and carry 2 spare batteries and a tesco cheapo LED light. Looking at the Luminous light for bullet proof lighting but not just yet.

Have a search on here. You can get led toches from e bay / deal extreme.

£50 gets you a specific bike light, £30 a p7 torch which is bright enough to ride with easily. £10 for a 3w cree torch which is the minimum IMO

Depends how bright your maglite led is – a couple of 5mm leds will not be enough – a 3 w cree will be
