I need a list of aroudn 7-10 NICE pub in london. I already have the o'reilly in soho (the one with the tree inside).
I'd like picturesque one possibly in touristy places (so not your local).

I *think* you mean the Princess Louise – intact/restored Victorian place with lots or original tiles and reinstated screens ?

Is the Salisbury not a pub for chaps who bowl from the Pavilion End?

+1 for the Old Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street. Old Journos' pub, much quieter now they've all decamped to Wapping but still loads of character. Still has coal fires in winter.

Also The Spaniards, Spaniards Road, Hampstead, good after a walk on the Heath. Have a soft spot because I met Swamp Girl there for the first time. The Flask in Flask Walk, Hampstead isn't bad either.

Best pub in Hampstead is the Holly Bush. One of my old locals.
The Flask is OK as a pub, its a pity it only sells Youngs beer though.

Theres a pub opposite Keats house which isnt bad, but I cant remember the name.

CFH – I dont particularly like the Porterhouse, but its an "interesting" touristy pub in Covent Garden. Probably suit Juan to a tee.

In or near City

The Olde Mitre – Ely Place in an alley between Hatton Garden & Ely Place. Difficlut to find but one of the oldest and my favourite pub in London.

Further west
The Grenadier – Wilton Row Belgravia, down a private road good location (especially in Summer), has gone down hill a bit recently
For Covent Garden, I would say my old local the Lamb & Flag, Rose St.

Kensington
The Elephant & Castle Gordon Place, again a back street location between the High ST and Notting Hill

I was in the Princess Louise yesterday, it's also a Sammy Smiths pub so you can get a pint of bitter for £1.80

The Grenadier – Wilton Row Belgravia

used to be a great pub. Not quite the same now unfortunately.

The Regent in Kensal….. Cracking fun on a Friday and Saturday night and very comfy the rest of the time.

Can I also recommend the Nag's Head, Kinnerton Street. Juan, make you you take your mobile phone with you, and tell all your friends to ring you while you're there, it's traditional……

Can't recommend the Market Porter, Borough; the Pheonix SW1 is fine at weekends but rammed at all other times; service is not great, and they really don't know how to keep beer! 🙁

Having said that, I don't really have any favoured alternatives, unfortunately. Ooh, apart from the Buckingham Arms, Petty France, SW1. Service is excellent, it's popular without being completely rammed, and the beers include Banana Bread Ale, Chocolate Stout and various other tasty beers.

well it was just to write a few off them for a bday yesterday. Pressie is a pot to go to london and it was the second time I met the girl, so it was just not to come empty ended.
