The new light we’ve just had fitted in dining room specifies a maximum wattage of 3 watts for the bulbs. Would putting 3.5 watt LED bulbs in it cause any sort of risk?

Reason is that MrsKenny wants dimmable bulbs and I can’t see any 3 watt bulbs with that option. Or is it the case that 3 watt bulbs don’t need to be dimmable because they are already not that bright?

Is it really 3w max? That’s very low. Even for a low energy bulb it is low. Can’t see 3.5 being an issue. There will be no heat and very little current. Only issue might be if it is extra low voltage then there will be a limit for the driver

I did think it was very low. Not a subject I know much about (obviously) but Googling reveals very few LED bulbs at 3 watts or under.
