    Hello guys,
I tried out Leckhampton woods for the first time today.
Very good I must say, my one question is though,
do all the routes start from the long steep bridleway running up the middle of the wood?
It's off to the right when you enter the woods from the car park (you know!).
Any stuff off to the left?
    Thanks chaps
P.s. thanks to the nice fella in the car park with the commencal who gave me directions!

Yeah, there are tracks both sides and even more if you go up the top.

I'd suggest walking about and seeing what you can find.

[Edit] Or get someone to show you about – you DHing?

if you are starting from the carpark, did you climb the steepish dirt incline climb? if you go that way when you come to a clearing look left and you can climb some more to the very top.

Or from the car park, look to the right and there is a little bit of stuff in the beech woods behind the park keepers house.

Best advice would be go to the top and explore. There is a map on the boards on the bottom that should help with basic orientation.

Thanks guys I might try and get up there again this week.
The climb up to the air balloon isn't as bad as I thought!

Or go up Daisybank and then down Sandy lane or ride up to the top of Lecky then down one of the more mellow downs.

You could go up Crippetts farm way. Up the steep road, then left onto a track before you get to the end of the road. You'll cross a road eventually, into some woods, then over to the Star College. Then you can go on the track by the golf course to the top of Leckhampton hill. You can go over towards Charlton Kings way, then turn back on yourself to Daisybank. There's loads of little tracks all over it. My directions are sh!t. Sorry.

Lecky is abit limited inless you just want to do downhill runs.Best thing to do with Lecky is start there or finish there on a ride to Cranham etc.Sandy lane is a good climb straight up.The downhill runs are pretty steep in places.Good fun.

I did a great route using Lecky and Wisterly hill today – about two hours.

Link to my normal route – Lecky to Seven Springs, Cobberley then back into Cheltenham.
