    There used to be quite a few magazines such as Everyday Electronics, Practical Electronics, ETI, Wireless World, Elektor. Some of these may have web versions

    Elektor magazine was (and still is) always the best

    Probably not great for basic theory, but http://www.sparkfun.com is quite good for project possibilities.
