    Hey

Anyone had lead pipes replaced from street to house in Edinburgh and had to dig up garden etc?
If so, who did you use please as we are struggling to find someone.

    Cheers

in our area the water supply company would do it ‘to your door’ – I think for free as they wanted to get everyone on meters and were worried about attaching meters to lead pipes. Might be worth contacting them?

We ain’t metered and from what we can tell from all the literature it resides on us to pay for which is cool. It just needs done asap.

Check with your water supplier as ours would have done it for free if it was lead (which it wasn’t). Actually they may only go to your boundary.

Google ‘moling’ – a bit like this

What sharkbait says, Mark… we had this (though Musselburgh, dunno if that makes a difference).

Yep we have already checked the SW stuff and they only go to boundary.

One of the issues we have is a very tall banked garden that people are a bit wary of maybe.

We have an 8ft drop to the street; was moled up into the solum fine. They then sent in a total tw*t of a plumber in to connect things up.
Any big plumbing firm will do it. Try TB Mackay.
