Need to fix a latex road tube for the first time. Do I use a regular patch or do they need something ” special ” ?

    Cheers

i use an old latex tube as the patch. cut sections out and wrap them. plenty of adhesive. take your time they can be a b1tch to do.

I’m pretty sure I just used a normal proper patch. I had read about the cutting up a latex tube to patch with but I didn’t have any old latex tubes either – they don’t have a use by date do they 🙂

ordinary patches are fine. Better than that, the vulcanising glue works much better so don’t leave it too long to go tacky.

Cool, thanks. How about park self adhesive patches ?
I know some don’t like these but I’ve never had any issues with permanent repairs on regular tubes.

Personally I don’t see self adhesive patches as a permanent solution, I would always use a proper patch and glue.

Use ordinary patches. It will be the easiest puncture you ever fix.

ive used the park patches on my latex tubes with no problems, they were on the tubes for over 6 months.
