    Hello all,

Does anyone have any good Lake District routes that can be ridden straight from a train station?

Hope all had a good Christmas,

    Kind regards

There’s a train station in Staveley, you could ride Garburn Pass and Kentmere from there.

I’m sure the locals will have plenty more suggestions though.

Plenty of options from Windermere or Staveley.

Windermere – down to Bowness then ferry over for Claife, Grizedale etc.

Staveley – Garburn Pass then food at Wilfs

I’m sure SFB or Lowey etc., will be along with other suggestions.

The Garburn Pass looks good. Does anyone have any tips or routes?

    Any other suggestions?

Allstate from Perth, eskdale and duddon valley from ravenglass, ennerdale from whitehaven, wasdale from seascal. Mail me for wild west detail.

Mainline station is Oxenholme, change there for Windermere.
Get off at Staveley, head into the village and the route proper starts at Wilf’s Cafe/Wheelbase Cycles – maps and guidebooks available from the bike shop.

If you get the train all the way to Windermere it’s a short ride into Ambleside where there’s route options galore – pop into Bike Treks in town for maps and route advice.

    Allstate from Perth

    Should read: Ullswater from Penrith!
