I’m contemplating another 29’er HT as I’ve kinda missed my FF29 since I sold it. This time round I fancy a carbon framed bike and the KTM Aera comp has caught my eye.

For the money it seems pretty well specced and is light enough at 11.15kg in medium. There’s weight to be lost in the wheels and by tub leasing it up, so that doesn’t bother me. Are there any real world views if this bike?

Another one I’m considering is the Giant XTC Comp 2, similar spec and probably weight too, and I’ve turned into a bit of a Giant fanboy since getting an Anthem and a TCR Comp.

The aera is pretty good value for money, but if you want more of the finished article spec wise look at the myroon as that’s the next model up from the aera.

Biggest issue we have had with KTM is getting hold of stock (ironically we sold a medium aera earlier this year)

If you want a cracking VFM carbon 29er (or 650b for that matter) take a look at Silverback bikes..
