Knee pads were rubbing a little yesterday and left a little bit of raw skin on the right knee. Today they ripped both my knees to bits. And I'm riding again tomorrow so need to find a way to stop this happening. Any ideas what's causing it?
I wore them all last summer and never had a problem.

not sure why it is happening, but i wear tights underneath, never had a problem

A bit of medical tubigrip slid over the knee first (supports the knees when riding too!)....

my Raceface ones did this in the mountains. Became very sore. Never happened in theUK though. I would get some lycra knee warmers , strips to go over the joint.Could just be a new position since they've bedded in.

When was the last time they were washed? I don't do mine often enough tbh and every so often they go a bit sandpapery and take a wee bit of skin off the top of my knees. Very irritating. Probably too late to do anything about it if that's what it is though.
Micropore sort of works as a "patch" but if it comes loose, and it might, it makes it worse. I was away at fort william for a long weekend and got some rubbing on day one. Day 2, taped it up, lasted a while, then got worse. Day 3 wasn't looking fun, nipped into boots and got a can of that spray-on elastoplast stuff, scooshed that on, worked a charm.

Mine tend to rub the knee caps if I have them pulled up too far, pull them down a touch and you may find it better.

Mine dont rub but do ruck the skin up a bit behind the knees when pedalling with the seat down.
Only cure would be to buy a dropper seat post....

Sudocrem works well for a lot things. Have you tried Udderly Chamois Cream(also known as minty arse cream, I'm told). Its lighter than S/crem and does a good job elsewhere. You'd think it might come under the Lubricants & Cleaning section in online web sites, but no: Body Maintenance; haha.
