Klein Attitude XV
For sale due to back surgery - pretty much unused for over a year and a half. before that I have covered some 400miles on the bike as it is, 95% on road to commute to work and 5% on trails (hardpack tow paths and the like, no aggressive off-road). Bike weight is sub-20lb. The bike has been kept indoors for most of its life.
I have included a detailed description below. Please take the time to read carefully. Should you want pics, details or large photos please ask me and I'll happily oblige.
Please, no time-wasters!
Frame
Klein ZR9000 Aluminium custom alloy gradient tubing with zirconium & aluminium for increased stiffness and fatigue strength
Finished in Blue linear fade (the bike is different shades from front to back)
in size Medium (approx 17-18" C-C)
Has some light scratching to the finish and some small chips. one in particular is over the 'XV' of Attitude XV on the top tube, this is by far the worst one but is not a frame dent or ding. I had covered it with a wide hair strunchie to help protect that area but have removed this for taking the pictures. Hair scrunchie is included upon request!
I have attached some high reflection stickers to the rear of the seatstays, and the crankarms and the forks. you can easily remove these if you don't want them but they really create some wanted attention at night!
Forks
Fox F80RL Shocks, coil & oil
works well, with lockout and adjustable damping / rebound
could probably benefit from some new seals / bushings, you can send them off for a complete overhaul at Tim Flukes / Mojo suspension for about £89 but they work well as they are. I would have done this myself but cannot ride it anymore!
Wheels
Mavic Crossmax SL wheelset.
Aerobladed spokes
Mavic hubs with shimano freehub body to back
6-bolt disc brake attachments
Tyres are Continental Touring Plus 1.5" with aramid protection - very good puncture protection and great rollers for the road. I run tubed tyres with these tubeless wheels with no problems whatsoever - although mounting them was a little challenge, I have put a video on youtube to show how so mount them if you are unsure, I've got it down to a fine art now. The tyres were from commuting to work and these are the ones that will be sold along with the bike. They have covered about 150 miles.
Groupset (gears)
27-speed Shimano XTR gears with XT rear cassette (more durable) and XT front chainset. Chain, cassette and front chainrings have had approx 150 miles on them on road use only.
Shimano rapid rise pod controllers (integrated levers and shifters). the bottom thumb shifter has been taken off as I never used it, the entire gearing I found easier to do through the integrated lever
I will thoroughly clean and degreased / regrease the chainset before sale.
Cables have also been replaced recently
Brakes
Shimano XTR hydraulic Disc brakes front and rear
Front works fine
rear needs bleeding (I have temporarily removed the rear disc rotor, I will supply this with the bike). I never got around to having them bled as I haven't used the bike hardly over the past 18months and when I have I have just used the front brake anyway.
Other Bits (stem, seatpost, saddle, etc)
Thompson Elite x4 80mm front Stem
Thompson Elite Layback seatpost
Fi's'ik Saddle
Easton EA30 flat handlebars
Some kind of foam grips (i forget the make) but they are comfy!
cane creek headset
Shimano SPD pedals (dual sided ones)
The Bottom Line
Overall in good condition. Rear Brake was sticking so my LBS said it needs bleeding and setting up, forks could use some new seals and possibly new bushings (cheap parts if you are confident to do this yourself, or for £89 Mojo will do this plus more and warranty their work). If you are unsure how to do this I can give you their details, it's a simple mail-in operation. With that said the forks still function well and the lockout still functions perfectly.
I have the klein owners manual in the klein drawstring bag plus some service reciepts which I will also supply to the winner.
there are some superficial frame marks from use, some around the chainstay where the front chainset is (as you normally find) but I put some cable ties here to prevent chainsuck and further paint chipping. also the photographed painchip and one or two other very small chips but no dings in the chips.
The bike is for collection only or delivery within reason (max 150 miles each way) for my petrol money which will be about 15pence per mile. If you want delivery it will be arranged at my convenience and the amount will be added to the final sale as postage cost which I will work out at 15pence per mile using google route navigation as a round trip (so maximum round trip would be 300 miles, costing £45).
If you want delivery it's no problem but I would require some kind of non-refundable deposit / the full amount prior to delivery via paypal / cheque / bank transfer.
I will accept cash on collection or bank transfer or cleared postal cheque.
