Just got my Kinesis Tripster..

..first cross race on it today.. got it home and while cleaning it noticed what looks like a dent in the driveside chainstay.. the crank arm is so close to chainstay you can push it across in to it.

Is this ‘dent’ a manipulation of the tube to give more clearance?? I did think this but then there looks to be a semi circular crack in the paint like where the crank has been forced into the chainstay.

Does someone have one to confirm wether this is a design feature or a bike going back to the shop this week???
