My wife was using her mum’s Kindle until it broke. I want to buy her a new one but will she be able to get access to the books that she bought through her mums account or is it start from scratch time?

No, I can’t buy it through her mum’s account.

    Thanks!

Yeah you just log into whatever account you want. The Missus and I used to have separate accounts, now we just use the same account across our different devices

    You can link accounts.

Might be Prime feature. Not sure.

Edit: looked it up – they call it Households.

the other alternative is to take the digital rights off the books, using calibre. Then you can load them onto whatever you want.

+1 for Calibre. Allows you to convert your Kindle stuff into any format and read on any device.

    Option 1

Make mum and her a family. Both accounts get all books bought be either.

    Option2

Log device into mums account and download books

Then log it into her account

I think books are good for 5 downloads.
