Simple light and cheap and will work sort of – but as the seat / BB distances changes then you will bob up and down when pedalling.

    My mistake.

    Eight it is.

So, is Yulia sleeping with Yurly? Or perhaps with Veronika? Maybe with both?

it’s AWFUL, and I may have trolled them a little on FB. It’s $50 retail. It ugly and looks like a bit of coathanger. It weighs 391g 😯 (that’s more than the saddle + seatpost on my road bike). It takes no account of the different weights of riders (there are saddles with removable elastomer springs in the base that can be tuned for weight). When it compresses it will become nose-high.

Apparently it helps with “back problems” but they couldn’t tell me which (and I don’t see any of the doctors they mention listed). But that’s okay because people have test-ridden it for 70 miles at a time and had “good feelings”.

It is getting more hate than love on FB so be interesting to see if that is reflected in the kickstarter.

I want to see them on Dragon’s Den. I expect it’ll go like this

Has all the hallmarks of one of those evolutionary dead ends that biking is littered with.

That said, new things come along and surprise everyone with their success occasionally.

    I wish them good luck.

391 grammes? thats outrageous and means its really no lighter than the thudbuster which works really well.

FFS – I just watched the video on their site and it shows the rider bobbing up and down with every pedal stroke

They do. This isn’t one of them.

from the 2012 handmade bike show

    or pre WW2

There main claim is that it is lighter than a suspension seatpost.

Seems I gave them way too much credit there!

One heavy landing and it’s ****.

Tangent of the arc it travels in will start off in line with the seatpost, then gradually move so that the path is forward. Not aligned for taking hits from the road, perfectly aligned for bobbing around and being annoying.

At least the thudbuster travels backwards and has some (elastomeric, admittedly) damping. This idea is not full of win.

@crashtestmonkey – are you one of the guys that commented on my FB post (Dave Marshall)?

Yep (I have a spoof FB name due to being Bablyon, I have colleagues who’ve been tracked down via FB by criminals with a grudge).

If they’re right and I’m wrong they will laugh last and longest with a successful kickstarter and early retirement. I’m inclined to think it is closer to the Kitten Stomper than the I-phone, though…

Basee on their advert, webpage and this place’s affinity for all things gnarmack.

yes it does. You change the point on the spring that you attach the saddle and seatpost.

It’s not for us but it’s ok really. There’s lots of bike with ‘suspension forks’ that aren’t what we would use but folks are perfectly happy round town with them. Price is probably a bit high for the market though

    Fabulous accents though 🙂

Stupid products often sell well as the world is full of very stupid customers.

Sadly we are too clever to think of selling stupid stuff 🙁

do you really think that the casual, non-enthusiast cyclist is going to
    1) sign up to a new invention on Kickstarter or
    2) spend $50 (probably a substantial % of the price of their bike) on something so trivial?

    🙄
