Is the old railway from Keswick to Threlkeld bike-path tarmac or gravel? is it ok for a skinny tyred road-bike?

Mostly tarmac fine for road tyres. On the Sustrans C2C so all manner of bikes can use it, don’t forget your helmet 😆

i rode it a couple of weeks ago, and seem to remember a lot of it being gravel, and some slippy timber bits.

    cheers.
Going for my first road-ride this weekend and route-planning. guess ok in the dry, maybe worth avoiding in the damp (especially since I’m on a borrowed bike)

    cheers.

I’ve ridden along it several times, but always on the mtb, so haven’t paid attention as to what I was on.
Might stick to the south side of the A66 and go up and over by Goosewell farm instead.
