    Any reccomendations please ?

Don’t need anything fancy apart from pub grub within staggering distance.

The one at Braithwaite is pretty nice and flat but for a bit more wilderness there’s a good few up Borrowdale. The one just past Rosthwaite which give you two pubs to go at! Remember camping there around this time of year a few years ago and it was bloody cold though.

    For Lads or family ?

A group of lads will struggle with ANY campsite in and around Kewsick.

family then Braithwaite is good, as is Lane Foot a little further along the A66.

Castlerigg Camp Site is good too.

2 blokes (50+) – not sure if we count as lads anymore.

It is just a stop off for Friday night so we get an early start for a weekends loop ride.

You might struggle with two blokes on Braithwaite. Call them first. Lanefoot you will probably be ok.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT TAKE ADVANCED RESERVATIONS FOR CAMPING. We operate on a first come first served basis for families and couples only. NO GROUPS PERMITTED.

What is classed as a “couple” nowadays? Can business discriminate between a “couple” of guys or gals who may be a “couple” ?

IMHO that just means we will turn away a group of 15 lads and a hen do

I think two 50 year old males wont worry anyone with their rowdy ways

Lanefoot proper camping in a farmers uneven field pub further away

Braithwaite Commercial camping in a crowded flat field Pub next door iirc

The Coledale Inn is 5 mins further up through the village.
