i had a hard enough time on my local river yesterday (ok, it was running a bit faster than usual), but that’s just crazy.

The view down the river and the gradient/exposure at around 3:50 is insane.

much respect to someone who can remain calm and controlled in such situations.

Never having been in a kayak in my life – how much skill is involved in those drops or are you pretty much at the mercy of the water – direction wise that is? How easy would it be to smash onto rocks?

Not much skill involved in dropping off a waterfall.

But it takes skill to drop off a waterfall at the right point, at the right speed and maintaining the right angle for landing. And even more skill to recover in time for the next drop or rapid… some of those landings have zero room for error!
