It kind of blew my mind a bit, I'm getting married in 6 months and I'm looking forward to it more than I've ever looked forward to anything.
I am marrying the perfect woman for me, there are no problems whatsoever, but when I put that ring on something strange happened, I looked at my own hand and it suddenly made me feel very old and very sensible and not in a good way...does anyone know what I mean? Is this normal????

Try holding your own newborn kid in your arms - makes you feel (you should act) even older and more sensible...

I know what you mean. That's why I wear mine on waxed cotton around my neck. That and I think my finges are too short and stubby for rings.

I tried mine on for the first time yesterday, getting married in December, definately felt weird, but in a good way.
Wait until you are standing alone at the top of the aisle. Your knees will start to wobble!
Feels odd taking mine off now, which I generally only do for kayaking and climbing.
I never wear my wedding ring. Can't stand rings. It's in a box in my pants drawer. I've got an excuse as it bangs against the fretboard 
If I take mine off now there's a permenant hollow in my finger, branded for life (no more slipping it off into my pocket when out and about).
Edit: reading that back, it sounds really sleazy.

it's also my most prized possession too, along with the wife, and my 4 month old son.
I never take it off, and I've developed a strange habit of giving my (wedding) ring a kiss before I start my route on the MTB.

Yeah pretty normal to consider your life when you suddenly realise your one undeniable step closer to being a "grown up" (whatever that is).
I wear my ring all the time, but I do take it off at night and to wash my hands. It's just a symbol after all.
for a balanced perspective, i took mine off for good 7 years ago. nearly flicked it to its death off aguille du midi, then it was a keyring on my bike lock key. now it's lost somewhere. yesterday my ex wife's behaviour reminded me why it was a bad bad thing to start with. mleh
