Sorry I'm late got stuck under half a dozen exploding wheels in my garage !

    Stu your the best FACT

Si you would have shamed about 99% of the readers on here today with your non wheel exploding antics on your "silly" bike

Tricky you can always borrow one of my Singulars anytime (swift or gryphon) as long as you take the correct safety advice and beware of exploding wheels especially if I've built them

And it's a fact the Q's are so tough on man and machine I have been known to ride a tandem around them

Off to the garage to get my dangerous bike out! Am I being over cautious?

Do you not think that if off road cycling was allowed to evolve in europe with no u.s intervention we'd all be riding 29ers.
As a kid my tracker bike was a racer with knobblies and cowhorns.

Dodged a bullet today. Rode my 29er and nothing exploded. I know I'm on borrowed time but I like to live on the edge

I passed a truck on the M1 earlier, good job he wasn't near the Q's otherwise his wheels may have exploded too.

The slightly alarming thing, to a soon to be first time 29er rider like myself, is that Teadrinker has already split and sold the bike he referred to in the initial post. What happened TD? (I note that the wheels you sold had no mention of explodedness).

Don't do it Bol, you're a young man with your whole life ahead of you. Think of the future.

Slight problem with the back of the house and a lot of money needed to fix the problem! Hence sale of the bike which I only rode for two miles. Never even got to see the wheels explode. Gutted

This thread has got me a bit worried now.
I've got to get on a ferry to Ireland on Thursday and there'll be some of these exploding 29er wheel in the back of my car. What if they go off while i'm on the ferry and sink it. They could kill hundreds of innocent people and I'd be to blame.

Stu,if its the Swansea-Cork ferry, worry not,for me and the Pirate will be taking our dangerously over-sized wheeled bikes on it Wenzdee night.
So of course by Thurzdee it will have been destroyed and sunked by the hooge explosions of our wheels halfway across the wet bit....

That'll be two explodicated ferrys then as i'm going Fishguard Rosslare.

Oh well at least there'll be two fatwheels in the car too so maybe any survivors can use them as a makeshift liferaft.

Fear not Guys! I'll be out with the life boat Weds and Thurs just in case the wheels misbehave them selves!

Never mind exploding wheels does riding a 29er make you painfully unfunny? This thread would suggest it does.

    grum-short for grumpy ?

grum is the biggest 29er haterist in the whole world. He would rather drink a pint of tramps vomit every hour on the hour for the rest of miserable little life rather than admit that maybe, someone out there is having fun on a bike that's different to his

  19. Keef - Member

Tazzz, shhhhh ! don't let him know riding bikes (of any description, except bmx of course, cus they're just silly) is fun.....

PS,I hear some people are only running one gear now a days,an all, surely this will result in instant death ?

that's the second time I've been bloomin shhhhhh'd on here today, I'm not going to type at you or tollah any more...you both smell of fudgey gussets......so there!

EDIT:I even hear that there is some sort of secret singlespeederist fight club racing for beer and glory.......but that's gotta be just mad talk

I am? I really don't care at all what bike people ride and I reckon for some people 29ers are probably great - it's just that there is a fairly tragic clique of people on here who like to constantly willy-wave and attempt to prove how different and special they are. And they're nowhere near as funny as they seem to think.

I'm sure as 29ers get more mainstream they will already be looking for the next niche to occupy.

The difference is that I don't constantly try desperately hard to be funny and fail miserably though.

You'd be grumpy too if you had to put up with people like you.

You seem to confuse mates taking the piss out of each other with them giving a **** what you think.

Hey grum(py),you don't have to put up with any thing, you don't have to use this forum........

As you know I love 29ers, but I would have to agree with grum that you all seem to have the same level of humour as a 2 year old in the fact that you will flog the death out of 1 thing over and over and over again, but then again I think even a 2 year old would have got insanely bored of hearing this joke by now!

And the Q's are still excellent trails and much like me (with regards to 29ers) you all slag them off when you probably haven't rode them or at best followed the magazine rides! but please keep slagging them off and spread the word that they are crap so to keep the trails clear for me to be radsik and gnarly all over! Happy days to you all....

  32. tollah - Member

Ruscle and Grum fek off and let us get on with enjoying ourselves unless you're enjoying yourselves too then you'd be welcome to stay and ................ Oh cwap I think my fence sitters wheels have just exploded after riding the Cotswolds tonight

And just for the record I've ridden the Q's a fair bit locals stuff and well known stuff yeah it's ok but it's not all that.

Oh and one more thing, Taz, be quiet man.

  33. thekingofsweden - Member

    Oooooo someones tired

10 miles over the 'Q' on an ordinary was a bit tough tonight then
