  • Just how bad is mobile data in that London…?

Just spent a few days in the capital and was surprised at how bad data is on both Vodafone and O2. Good 3g signal but very poor throughput and often stalls for ages. Was I just unlucky or is it always that bad? Any better on three?

Always found orange okay but the trouble with London is you are sharing the switches with a hell of a lot of people.

no it really can be bad in london.

Especially rush hour at trains stations.
Im on vodafone but for a while also carried a 3 sim’d Mifi dongle for when vodafone grinds to a halt at paddington.

its a bit pathetic they havent committed more to the peak capacity really.

They have got a better caching solution on the way to be deployed in london early next year, so knew it was bad, but didn’t realise quite how dire it was.
