…….I didn’t have any shoes on! Wtf, apparently its down to health and safety. Someone could run over my feet with a trolley?! Flip flops are ok though. I spoke to the store manger and asked to see the policy which she couldn’t find so said I could shop this time so long as I took full responsibility if I damaged my feet. What is the world coming to?

Well, given that people feel it is acceptable to go shoeless in places other than a beach/park/garden, I fear very much that it is coming to an inglorious end.

in a world of ambulance chasers and idiots who refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions, they are just trying to minimise the liklihood of a spurious claim and the costs associated with it.

that is unfortunately life in our modern world, someone, somewhere is always to blame to others stupidity and had better get their cheque book out

I had a word recently with the manager of my local Tesco about the amount of riff-raff they allow in.

I’m glad to hear they’re starting to clamp down.

I had a mate who never used to wear shoes, his feet looked manky underneath. Bloody hippy that he was.

If you came in my shop without shoes, I’d probably ask you to put them on too, it’s common sense shirley?

Ernie, didn’t you know? Tescos exists to keep the riff raff out of Waitrose.

Tesco’s has just gone up in my estimation.

I’ll stick with Waitrose though. No shoes is acceptable providing that you’re of eccentric or bohemian upper-middle class stock.

As a Sainsbury’s shopper, I can confirm this is true.

Round my way, Sainsbury’s is almost as nice as the local Waitrose.

They don’t sell such good quality meat, though. Or Meantime. Or Summer Lightning. 🙂

I can understand why (being a tesco manager) we had a customer 4 weeks ago came in with flip flops on and walked into one of our cages,it was a metal cage with the edges exposed, was a nasty accident took the end of her toe clean off, ive never seen so much blood from a toe, made me feel sick really ill.

She is claiming as they usually do, not an incident i would like to see again.

Well may girlfirend broke her sandles whilst walking around St Michaels Mount.
Walked back over to the mainland, butn as soon as we were off the sand she was whinging.
I galantly offered my flipflops………..mainly too shut her up!
We noticed a Tesco and thought we’d check, see if they had some cheap pumps.
We were half way around before we were informed it was “illegal” for me to be in a food retail outlet without shoes on.
I realised after a couple of seconds that he wasn’t actually a member of staff, so my laguage turned feral on him! 😯 😈

And all you plagiarists keeping the riffraff out of waitrose can cite the late, great Alan Cohen!

Stoner, I am proud to plagiarise such a fine wit as Cohen. 🙂
