A colleague of mine has a 10 year old daughter who competes at triathlon. Presently she uses a child’s mountain bike which makes her uncompetitive despite her being amongst the leaders at running and swimming.

The events are held on tarmac or grass surfaces so I guess that a cross bike with a change of tyres to suit the particular race would be the best bet without spending a massive amount of money.

Where would be the best place to buy one?
