Had 6 weeks off work initially, been back for five now an went for my final? check up only to be told actually I need an op t fix it properly. So my questio is what work can i do with only one arm for six to eight weeks? Answers on a postcard……

Pretty much anything you want to do. You'd be surprised what you can do with a bit of determination and imagination…

Yep. Hence my use of 'pretty much'. 🙂

Borwens – what do you mean by 'what work' can you do? Do you mean as a job, or stuff around the house?
My sister in law had her collarbone plated after it refused to heal and despite the 6-8 weeks suggestion, she was on 'light duties' after about 2 weeks. She said it felt (relatively) great as soon as she left the hospital.
