Did Jacob’s ladder this morning and it was busier than I expected given its mid-week. Barely saw anyone else on the loop, but must have passed about 20-25 walkers on that section. Is it always busy? Usually ride on Saturdays and wouldn’t fancy meeting crowds of walkers on some sections!

It tends to be in good weather in my experience – more walkers (retired types) than bikers though

Pretty much the nicest day of the year so far. Fair-weather walkers bound to be popping up on this kind of path, even midweek. It’s a bit like Loughrigg Terrace in the Lakes – if you want it clearer during the spring/summer months, ride it at unsociable hours or in indifferent weather.

Not always but it can be fairly difficult to predict when it’ll be quiet. Since I retired I’ve ridden it at all times and am often surprised at how many people there are midweek, mostly bloody retirees. Mondays are usually ok but not always if it’s nice weather or summer. Just speed up and mow them down

Just been on tele too on a walks programme.

I once did it at night in December and there were walkers with torches!

Were you also using some form of light, or do you eat a lot of carrots?
