My girlfriend is slowly getting into ridding and is in need of a new jacket. She’s into other outdoor pursuits like walking and getting pissed in fields listening to music so wants a breathable, non insulated softshell of some sort that is non bike specific. Hood would be a bonus but not necessity. Looking around the sales, it seems the current trend is for quite a short cut, which is obviously a disadvantage on a bike. Does anyone have any suggestions for something suitable?
Oh, also has to be less than a ton, and if she doesn’t end up looking like a train spotter, that’s also a bonus!
    Cheers.

If she doesn’t want to look like a gimpish cycling spod (and who does?) Have a look at the womens Sombrio jackets. They tick all your boxes and there are some great deals on them on Wiggle at the moment.

    ie:

Sombrio is quality gear as well.

    Or how about this:

Seems like a good deal too.

Liking the Sombrio but think she’ll take a medium. I’ll see how she likes the styling of the Raceface but I think it might be a bit of a statement for her.

That RaceFace Aquanot jacket is a nice bit of kit. Really well made & lots of nice features like thumb-cuffs, pit vents, hood, tons of pockets to stash stuff in etc. Bought one for the ex & she loved it. Looks good in the flesh too.

The verdict is out on the RF….. Black looks pretty cool.
