could get my 1*10 fatty up most things but with the granny the things it will climb and the goo you can cycle through is astonishing, surely part of the point imho.
i’ll keep any chelsea tractor comparisons to myself 😉

FBR = Fat Bike Fun 😉

See now you know why I let you look at my arse for so long last weekend.

For me the 1 x 10 has made me stronger & fitter but if you want to extend the distances or say race a 24 hours I know the 1 x 10 would destroy me which is why I’m looking for a 2 x 10 maybe 22/36 something like that.
But whatever you decide on just do it you won’t look back, we’re going to sell everything else & save up for a second Fat Bike each. Question is what?

The new carbon fibre Salsa looks stunning, probably build into a very nice race bike.

Gears, you don’t need them, singlespeed is the future 😉 (having survived last weekend at cannock with you guys).

I’ve ridden Singular’s fatty (borrowed for four days)and it’s converted me, might not need a fatbike for the snowy wastes of the chilterns or the canal’s beaches but it was just a lot of fun to ride, makes you look at over familiar trails in a new way.

I’m Fat curious too. That Singular looks yummy, but the Carbon Salsa made me squirm. I have a pic of a really nice Fatty, one that I think I’ll build later on in the year, well something very very similar too it…

    Off to find pics..

    Found it…

Aye – not cheap. I still reckon they are about the best tyre currently available for mixed riding but I’m hoping we’ll hear what Specialized are coming out when they launch their fatbike on Monday.

Ooh me too. Can’t decide on whether to go fatty or fat front for trail riding. Jones (if it fits), Fatty or hodgepodge DIY fat front…….hmmm. Those fattys do look fun but can’t decide whether the rear is necessary

Don’t forget the Charge, the Trek (soon, baby), the Specialized (Monday) the Kona, the Sandman, the Salamandres, the various custom Ti options, the 9:Zero:7s, The Fatbacks, the various Salsas and, of course, the Surlys.

Got to be enough choice for everyone now?

I read somewhere that the Singular was going to be a one size its all 18″ at around £1200.
For me, well I’d just luv to get hold of a new Borealis Yampa at 23.68lbs !!!

You could do with a granny when up Swaledale as the ups are steep and hard work .

Riding a double on my Beargrease. One by ten would have been a pain in the arse last weekend riding six of the Drumochter munros. I just don’t see the point of losing flexibility to save a bit of weight. 😀

Fat bikes are just pain fun!

You can definitely do more on a fat bike than just sand and snow.

Regarding the Puffin, I am working on some modifications to the prototypes I’ve had through and once these are finalised will be running a kickstarter project to get them off the ground.
