In ideal preparation for the Cairngorm Classic 100 sportive on Saturday I’ve had a bugger of a week. Monday and Tuesday were fine – nice commutes on the bike both days.
On Wednesday I spent the day in casualty only to discover I have an inch long blood clot near my calf muscle. Nothing major, just a bit uncomfortable. The positive I’m taking from it is that the pain killers will ease the pain of 6 hours in the saddle.
Out in the car at lunch time yesterday and car ran into the back of mine. The front of theirs was **** up beyond belief and mine has a few scratches and gouges out the paintwork. Honda Accord Tourer v. Citroen C2, Honda delivers killer blow. The positive from this is that I get a similarly specced 2 litre hire car to play with and my insurers have been very quick to act – cars going in on Monday for repairs.
And yes I know bad luck comes in 3’s.
Roll on tomorrow, what can possibly go wrong.
