Advice please. Our Spinone has developed a sore in the soft folds of her mouth. Apparently this can happen to soft mouthed dogs and is caused by a build up of bacteria. Wondering if anyone has any experience of treating this? We have used antibacterial scrub and cream but sore is very persistent and virtually impossible to keep her mouth dry. Have aslo cut away the hair/fur round her mouth. I know you can get an operation to remove some of the folds in the mouth but this sounds a bit drastic. Sore accompanied by really bad smell and dog in some distress.
    Thanks

Sorry to hear, but as above really, go to the vets.

They can be a bit of a high maintenance breed all told – touch wood we’ve not had an issue with the mouth, however, we’re no strangers anal glands/ears and the odd viral infection.

Just you try and keep that mouth dry! 😉

Brilliant photos Ben. I share your pain, we have drool stains on the ceiling. Vet recommends mouth op, which is what we are trying to avoid.
