Hi all. I’m having trouble getting the old Race Face Isis BB out of my bike.

Borrowed a shimano bb tool which “should” work but although the pattern of the splines looks correct the tool itself won’t pass over what looks like a collar where the spindle splines end as it becomes the solid part of the spindle (if you know what I mean!)

Should I be looking at another bb tool with a larger internal diameter to clear this collar?

    Many thanks, Jon.

IIRC you may have tried to use one intended for Shimano square taper and the like, the splines are the same but the ISIS had a wider OD axle, so you’ll need a different tool. Are you in Gloucestershire?

Yeh the one I have is for a Shimano square taper.

Looks very similar to the one above. It’s the ID that’s the issue.

I have a good bike shop near by, I’ll pop it in there.

If the US Military can’t get rid it, what chance do you have?
