Hadn’t occurred to me but yes, I guess Americana is as good a genre as you could get, it includes all sorts of influences and sounds so allows for the likes of the Fleet Foxes, The Acorn, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, possibly even Tanya Donelly, who’s Whisky Tango Ghost I’m listening to at the moment. Not Indy, but not folk, pedal steel guitar in there, acoustic guitar… Lovely album, highly recommended. About time the lazy cow got on with recording some new music, too.
