    Stupid question of the day…

Is the inner chain ring of this R565 chainset on backwards or is it my dodgy front mech setup? (I bought it second hand and only have 5800 to compare against)

I think it is as the chain is finding a gap and isn’t engaging with the teeth…

I didn’t want to dissemble the thing to realise it was correct..

    Cheers

The fact that the ring marking is on the outside shows it’s the right way round – there’ll be recesses on the back-side too. Adjust the inner stop screw a touch on the front mech to ‘nudge’ the chain over a bit, or you’ve still got too much cable tension

I managed to get the chain rings off without taking the crank arms off.

It was on the wrong way around, the holes were countersunk the other way round.

It’s back on now the right way around and gear changes are smoooooth (the chain has no room to get wedged like before)!

    Cheers @dovebike.
