    A friend of mine came across this (not literally) in the woods the other day and posted this picture on FB.

    I’m told this is type of mushroom known as a ‘Stinkhorn’, but I’m not so sure.

    get close and you’ll know where the ‘stink’ bit comes from. There’s usually flies all over it.

    Dead man’s fingers are a bit ‘I wonder what’s under there?’ too.

    Ah, phallus impudicus, also known as the Woodman’s Cock. Was pictured upside down in Victorian nature books, so as not to offend sensitivities.
