  • Is there much difference between a Fox Van R and a RS Vivid Coil?

    Hi

I am considering upgrading my Fox van R to a RS Vivid coil. Is this worthwhile? I will be running it on my dh bike, as far as I can see the only difference is it has a compression as well as rebound unlike on the Van R.

    Cheers

You can tun high speed and low speed rebound externally, so yes. Also if it’s a 2014 one, then it will definitely be more supple.

Whether it’s worth it depends on whether you’ve outgrown the shock and are looking for particular characteristics in your ride quality that you want to tune in.

You could always get your van pushed by tf tuned to get what you want, if you are a fit and forget kind of rider.

I am after much better small bump sensitivity and a bit more tuneable without spending loads. I would push my Fox van R, but it would seem more sensible to sell that shock and then buy a vivid or fox rc4.

    Anyone else got any input?
