Or do you have to laboriously trawl through all the common websites to find the cheapest part you require?

There’s not that many shops just Google the part is what I’d do. Then see what your LBS can offer.

    Use topcashback too.

Google shopping if you can be arsed sifting through the out of stock and American options.

Fwiw I know what I want to pay and the shop closest and is reliable gets it.

Wee Jim’s bike shop with an internet site that looks like his son made it at pre school gets skipped.

Was some woman that was posting on here a while back with daily PSA links, discounts etc via her site/twitter but think she got binned
Just google it and then flip the “best match” to “price low to high”

Google shopping though it also includes the not in stock, and picks up the pricing for the strange variant (ie pointless size combo etc)
LBS tell me a decent price I buy it though

Go into your lbs, scan the barcode (lots of apps available for this) and it will give you the best price online, then you can take advantage of the shop staff for any questions you have, for free!

Amazingly, some people think this is acceptable.

    Another vote for http://bikesy.co.uk
Search can be clunky at times but it throws up some real bargains

Worth pointing out that Google Shopping is paid (ie. shops pay for their links to be included) – and won’t always turn up competitive prices.

If you want the best price you’ve got to do a bit of digging.

This forum is probably the closest thing to a compare the market, simply because of the volume of skintflints price-conscious users willing to share their knowledge.

Frugal Roleur is another option. It only compares prices on Chain Reaction, Wiggle, ProBikeKit, Ribble, Evans Cycles and Merlin Cycles though.

Take a look at http://pricecompare.bike. Its a website I’m developing.
At the moment it has CRC, Wiggle, ProBikeKit, Evans, Merlin, Performance Bike, Tweeks, Hargrover, CycleStore. Working on adding additional ones.

I’m one of the guys behind this site, just a note that prices could be wrong in places, it’s still in development and we’re trying to fine tune the matching algorithms, s’why we’ve not been actively promoting it!

I use http://cheapesbikeparts.co.uk for most of my stuff. It saves your searches and choices for later. Great for procrastinators like me 😀
There’s a USA only version as well http://cheapesbikeparts.com
